Genet is a very special young lady. As a little girl, she worked as a housemaid, but when her employer died, Genet became one of the many homeless children in Ethiopia. She was hit by a car, and as she was being discharged from the hospital, Jennifer saw her and immediately did what was necessary to bring this lovely girl to our care center instead of back to the streets with half healed injuries. Hannah's story is something of a mystery. She came to us in 2016 after being found wandering the streets, unable to communicate with anyone about how she came to be there, or even what her name was. Hannah is deaf, and only knew the most basic sign language, so we have very little information about her history. What we do know is that she is intelligent, sweet and kind, and full of smiles and laughter. She quickly settled into our care center, and now, nearly a year later, she is attending an academy for deaf students, and is learning more sign language all the time.
